The biennial International Anti-Corruption Conference will take place from 10 - 13 November in Bangkok. With the theme Restoring trust: Global action for transparency, the conference will offer innovative perspectives on the role of anti-corruption in restoring trust in five key areas: peace and security, natural resources and energy markets, climate governance, the corporate world and the Millennium Development Goals.
The conference brings together diverse and distinguished participants including representatives from the public and private sectors, experts, activists, and civil society for the four day program of events. Notable speakers will include:
- Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Thailand
- Haruhiko Kuroda President of the Asian Development Bank
- Huguette Labelle Chair of Transparency International
- Paul Collier, Professor of Economics and the Director for the Centre for the Study of African Economics at Oxford University
- Gareth Evans, President Emeritus, International Crisis Group
- Ashok Khosla, President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature
- Alan Boeckmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fluor Corporation
During the conference, on 12 November, Transparency International will announce the winners of its 2009 and 2010 Integrity Awards, given to courageous individuals who have made a difference in the fight against corruption.
