ANSA-Africa is looking for partners in East and West Africa
07 May 2009
The ANSA-Africa is seeking to enter into formal partnerships with two institutions; one based in East Africa and another in West Africa. The aim of this partnership is to expand and promote the objectives of ANSA-Africa in these sub-regions in the field of social accountability. Partners would be required to implement activities as stated in the ANSA-Africa 2009 work plan, for example hosting public dialogues, convening capacity building initiatives and providing technical assistance. Potential partners however will need to first meet the following criteria:
Institutional capacity It will be determined if partners have the sufficient human capacity, skills, equipment and regional or country presence to be the implementation partner for that particular region. This will be determined by proven track record, annual written reports, and engagement with this partner’s previous and current partners in the sub-region or country.
Financial capacity The potential partner must demonstrate its ability to manage; report and audit large sum of funds. It must also demonstrate its ability to spend funds. This will be determined through the potential partner’s annual independent audits and assessment of the partner’s financial management systems.
Work Experience and Networking capacity The partner must show case its history and experience in the field of social accountability. In addition to this, the partner should provide a list of the organisation’s partners, past and present, and furnish the Secretariat with testimonials of partners affiliated to the organisation’s work and regard themselves as members of this organisations network.
Impact capacity The potential implementation partner needs to demonstrate the impact of their work over the last 5-10 years. Evidence of this can be drawn from the organisational annual report, monitoring and evaluation reports, media reports and donors’ reports.
Suggestions of potential partners can be forwarded to Mario Claasen by email: or fax: +27 12 320 2424 by 22nd May, 2009.
