Community Mapping: Using geographic data for neighborhood revitalization
November 2002
PolicyLink

Community mapping is a method that can be used to show the characteristics of a community and how it is changing. This enables development needs and opportunities to be identified in consultation with community members. It also facilitates the development of partnerships within and outside of the community. Community mapping allows the implementation of development programmes and monitor their success to be tracked. Ultimately, community mapping can be used to bring about change, especially in policies and the implementation of development initiatives.
