This Strategic Country Gender Assessment (SCGA) summarizes relevant gender issues in Tanzania to support dialogue with Government and civil society and to inform the World Bank’s work program. Specifically, the SCGA aims to support the Government of Tanzania (GOT) to integrate gender issues more systematically into the ongoing revision and update of the country’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS II), and to support the Bank in preparing the
2004/05 Country Assistance Strategy (CAS).
