Port of Spain, Trinidad: Leveraging Strategic Procurement to Achieve Best Value, Effective Governance and Responsible Development will be high on the agenda, when some of the world's most eminent procurement experts descend on the Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain, Trinidad, from October 11-12, for CPPC 2010, the leading public procurement forum in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
From procurement law, governance and anti-corruption to eProcurement and responsible supply chain management, this comprehensive two-day intensive, complete with some of the most dynamic workshops and conference presentations, will examine international best practice and the latest developments in the high-stakes world of public procurement.
From examining a country's potential risk for large-scale theft of public resources, raising accountability and auditing standards in state-owned enterprises, integrity, transparency, anti-corruption legislation and whistleblower protection to the risk of special interest influence; workshops will be tailored around Governance, Ethic, and Accountability, Public Procurement Reform and Regional Trade, Public Construction and Infrastructure, Public Private Partnerships, Procurement and the Environment, Oil and Gas Industry Contracting and Defense Procurement.
